| January, 2009! An empty nest. Kate is experiencing her first days student teaching and Ricky is a freshman, second semester. I am enjoying a few hours at home as the weather and time of year is creating a slower business...time to breathe and for the long awaited moments to begin restoring order to my home. God bless you all this new year. Let's keep our eye on Him who is the lover of our soul and our peace in this time of turmoil. Keep watching the Middle East and keep looking up! | | |
| Okay, here it is June 2008. Beautiful entrance into summer. | | |
| Negligent isn't the word, here. Two years since I've written. It's been just too long since I've had any time at all to relax, meditate, and allow my mind to be creative. Not to mention make my house a home...it's a cluttered mess instead of an inviting haven. I keep thinking there will be a time when I can have at least one uninterrupted (oh, how heavenly the thought) day, or even better....a week, to return one of those spaces to order - but I can do no more that look and try not to sigh too despairingly on my way to another full day of "work"; blessed am I though that I can be out of doors under the sunshine filled blue skies. Teaching is something I have grown to truly enjoy...I just long to have my house in order. | | |
| Oh, how the days fly past! This summer was busy with teaching and an additional assignment of a high school driver education class which proved to be an enjoyable time. It was balm to my soul to have students and parents be so appreciative. It seems right now that I am to be here at our business rather than in another position, though I keep applying thinking that another paycheck would certainly be beneficial, especially with children in college. No open doors. Yet I am content and refuse to worry. It is rather a relief that I can take a few more minutes to return my home to order and perhaps get in a few minutes to read and write and even walk. But more so, it is calming to know that I am here for Ricky even though he is in high school. Jen is discovering all the detailed work that goes into teaching, but she has continually demonstrated an excellent work ethic which I am sure will carry her far. She is expecting her first child...so more blessed excitement for this growing family. God has provided a neighbor friend who likes to walk also and who is currently absorbed in all of the prophetic events occurring in the Middle East. She also likes to write. We share resources and I realize it has been a long time since I have even had the privilege of a female friend. Well, duty calls and I must move on, though I could easily write for hours. God bless all of you who may read here and though this day may seem small, it is one the Lord has made and there are exciting adventures around the corner for each of you. This is the day that the Lord has made; rejoice and be glad in it. Make it a great one and keep looking up! | | |
| Whew, I guess I've been quite negligent in writing. A year has flown by and here we are again in May. Kate is no longer 17, but 18 and about to begin a new adventure as a college student. Ricky is leaving middle school years behind and Jennifer is embarking on another adventure with her wedding only days away and student teaching just beyond that. Daniel is excited about his latest endeavor and working long hours and Steven is just returning from college. Peter is enjoying his current adventure, teaching music lessons, accompanying, and working full time. Angela is a busy mommy and we are all excited about the soon arrival of her newest addition to our family. I am very happy that we have been blessed with two fine sons-in-law.
Life is unbelievably busy here with everything happening seemingly at once. Our beautiful new kitchen is a wonderfully welcome blessing. The business is very busy and keeps both Rick and I occupied double time. We've opened a new classroom which seems to be a good move so far. Some days I wonder if we can keep up, but more often than not I am very happy to be able to teach, enjoying the one-on-one with students.
Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. Psalm 91: 9-11
Take courage and have a blessed day! | | |
